Hey ! I hope you are well! Things are going pretty great over here. The little guy is almost one year old now. He's almost made it one trip around the sun, which is pretty cool! He's not quite walking on his own yet, and doesn't really say real words, but he's still living his happy little life, getting into every cupboard he can and covering the maximum possible surface
area of the floor with their contents. Sometimes it feels weird talking about my child, like all of these experiences we're having are novel. After all, something around half of
the population are parents, so this is nothing new to a lot of people, but it is new from my perspective, and that's the only perspective I have, I guess. So, yeah, for the most part, I
am continuing to have a great time being a parent, and it just keeps getting better and more interesting. Some mornings when I feed him oatmeal, and he wants to spread it over every surface (I'm sensing a theme) instead of put it in his mouth, that's less enjoyable, but we power through it. Not a whole lot else to report on the personal front, so let's get to some announcements! First of all, back in December
at PAXU, we announced the Gloomhaven RPG (which, since I haven't written since then, might be an announcement in itself), and that it would be coming to Backerkit soon. (Tentatively it was April, but that ended
up not working, so...) We are now ready to announce that the project is officially launching on June 20, in two months! And as someone who has run some of the biggest crowdfunding projects in the board game industry, I will tell you right now that this upcoming project is intimidating even to me. There is so much stuff that we'll be offering. Like,
easily enough stuff for 3 or 4 separate projects, but because we like to go big, we're going to do it all in one go and just have a giant month-long party. What we've announced so far is the RPG, a miniture line that contains figures for every monster, boss, and summon across all Gloomhaven
and Frosthaven games, and a second printing of Frosthaven. But there are at least two more big things we're still keeping up our sleeves that will also significantly step up the campaign. I want to tell you what they are, but I've been told I gotta stick to our announcement schedule. Remember when there wasn't an announcement schedule and I just said things? Those were fun times, but I think this is probably a better way to run a business, so I'll hold off... for now. But that brings us to our other announcement, which is hot off the press today. Normal writers might lead their newsletters with such things, but I like to tell you about my sons eating habits and then just throw the important stuff in the middle. Anyway,
the exciting news is that, now that US fulfillment of Frosthaven is complete (though we are still resolving support tickets), we are adding Frosthaven and other related products to our webstore! A lot of people ask me about when Frosthaven or Envelope X will be available again, and the time is now! At least for the US...until we sell out. We do hope to add international shipping options soon (though shipping would still be from the US). If you're outside the US and still looking for a copy of Frosthaven, the crowdfunding project in June will probably be your best opportunity. I saved the best video for last. And I do also have a couple other smaller things that are interesting to me and probably not many others. One is that I have finally relinquished
the Cephalofair Games Twitter account over to the Ross, the marketing manager (or maybe I should say that we finally got a marketing manager for me to relinquish the Twitter account over to). I now have a personal Twitter account, which I post from very slightly more frequently than I would post from the company account (meaning not all that often). And then lastly, I've been trying to do some more Twitch streaming Saturday mornings while the child takes a nap. The plan is to just play a
variety of video games (mostly rogue-likes) while I hang out and chat. So feel free to stop on by, somewhere around 10-12 Pacific, if that sounds enjoyable to you. And if I don't see you there, I'll just catch you with the next newsletter. Have a good day! |
