Hey ! Happy holidays! Oh my, it has been a while since I messaged, and I suspect that that is due to spending a lot of time taking care of this baby. Yeah, that's right, Isaac, just blame things
on the baby... What's he gonna do about it? The baby is now over six months old, which is crazy! He's grown so much in that time, evolving from a little lump
that just eats, sleeps, and poops to a little bud that still does those things a lot, but now has a personality and a set of ever-growing skills that includes rolling over, scooting backward, standing with the support of an Ottoman, and so much more. And every time he smiles at me, having recognized me as someone he likes, it just slays me. It's weird, because in that lump stage, I couldn't see what all the fuss was about. It was a lot of work and stress. But now, watching the development process, I am all in. I would do anything for this little guy and his chubby little cheeks. So look, I could talk about my son all day, but other things are going on, too! Like Frosthaven! That's right, at long last, Frosthaven is starting to arrive at people's doorsteps. Currently just people in the eastern US, but over the next couple months, we'll be getting it out all over the world. It was about six years ago that I started working on an outline for the story of Frosthaven, three years since we announced it at PAX Unplugged, and two and a half years since that massive, record-breaking Kickstarter. So much time, but it is finally paying off, and I've really been enjoying reading all the players' posts on Board Game Geek and Reddit as they experience it for the first time.
I'm even enjoying playing my own copy with a local gaming group. We only meet once a month, so it might take about 10 years to finish it, but we're still having fun. And
speaking of PAX Unplugged announcements! In what is becoming something of a tradition, we will be back this year with yet another huge unveiling. If you recall, last year
we announced a new crowdfunding project for the Miniatures of Gloomhaven, and we teased that more things about the crowdfunding project will be revealed over time. We solidified that the project will be on Backerkit (click here to sign up for updates!), as opposed to Kickstarter, and that it will also include a chance to get in on the second printing of Frosthaven. But there's more! And we'll be introducing the next big piece of the crowdfunding project on Friday, Dec. 2, at 1pm on the Main Stage of PAX. Why do we need the Main Stage? Well, because we'll be doing a live
play of the product we are announcing directly after the announcement, and it will feature some of the coolest people I know: Jerry Holkins, Tanya DePass, Danny Quach, Monica Paprocki, and Alexander Theoharis. I am really excited about the event! I think it is going to be spectacular, and if you will be at PAX, I highly, highly recommend putting it on your schedule. We want to do our best to fill that giant theater with all our awesome
Gloomhaven fans. And put on a good show, of course! And finally, it wouldn't be an email sent out right before Thanksgiving if I didn't tell you about our webstore holiday sale going on right now! We've got: All discounts are applied at checkout. Plus, I just want to say that I am really happy with
how that Frosthaven starting character image turned out! And that seems like enough updates for now. There's a lot of stuff going on, and it is all very stressful and exciting! I hope you have an equally exciting, but decidedly less stressful holiday
time. So spend some time with the family, play a little Frosthaven, and I'll catch you on the other side! |
