This is only the tip of the iceberg, though. Con season is fast approaching in force, poised to gobble up
many more months of my life (but in a good way). It all starts with Protospiel Indy next weekend, which you should go to if you are in the area and have a game that needs play testing or you just like to play test other people's games.
Then there is Geekway to the West two weeks after that, then HeavyCon the following week, then UK Games Expo the week after that, and Origins two weeks after that! If I survive, I should have lots of fun stories to tell. And the best part is that I'll be going to most of them with my wife.
(And I hope to see you at one of them as well!)
Before I go, I should probably address the question on many, many people's minds. I could not tell you how many
times I have been asked on every front when the next printing of Gloomhaven is arriving. And while I don't have a definitive answer, I will do my best to explain what is going on.
So we're printing a lot more copies. It may fulfill the current demand. It may not, but it
is what I could afford to print and it is a lot. And if anyone is familiar with how the second printing went down, you know that producing a lot of copies takes a lot of time. This isn't your standard board game. It takes the factory a significant amount of time to physically construct every game box.
Right now, I estimate they are somewhere around 1/3 of the way through assembling all of the copies. The first few batches are already well on their way to my distribution broker, but they want to wait for the entire printing to come in before sending anything out to distributors, because that is the most efficient and fair way to do it.
So it really comes down to how much longer it is going to take to assemble the rest of the boxes. I estimate it will take another month (which I will emphasize is just an estimate). From there, it is another month to get to the distribution warehouse, and then it could be in stores around two weeks after
that.
So the beginning of July. But it really is just an estimate.
Okay, with that said, I'm going to let you go. Until next time!
