Hey !
Has it already been a month? It feels like I just got
back from Origins and I am already turning around and heading back out to the grand and glorious Gen Con. Celebrating its 50th anniversary, this monster of a convention managed to sell out of 4-day passes, which is making me a little intimidated of the potential Saturday crowd.
Maybe it's actually better that my booth is in the far corner, #2903, where I can demo Gloomhaven and Founders of Gloomhaven in relative peace. If you are going to Gen Con, as well, I'd love for you to stop by and say, "Hi." We won't be selling anything this year (unfortunately the Gloomhaven second print wasn't ready in time), but I am hoping that will actually make the
convention a more laid-back experience.
I'm looking forward to a great time!
And one more thing about Gen Con. I was kind of blown away to be nominated for the Diana Jones Award this year, and the award will be presented at Gen Con, like always. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to win (strangely enough, Gen Con itself was also nominated, so...yeah), but still, it's a great honor, and I'm looking forward to that event.
But, actually, you know what was a bigger honor? When I got an email from the TV show Orphan Black five months ago, asking if I could send them a copy of Gloomhaven to be featured in their final season. That episode finally aired this last Saturday (season 5, episode
9), and, well, it was pretty amazing seeing something I created so prominently displayed in a show that I love. Here's a Vulture article about it too.
And I think that's about all the crazy stuff going on around here. I will admit that I am also looking forward to moving past Gen Con and this Kickstarter, when the craziness will die down a little bit
and I'll have more time to work on upcoming projects.
There is more exciting stuff to come from Cephalofair Games! |
