Hey !
Well, I just got back from the last convention I'll be going to for a long time, because a baby is coming in two months, and I don't think I'll be doing much traveling after that. Gotta take advantage of non-stop gaming weekends when I can.
At the convention, I think I described to someone that the baby coming was like Armageddon, but, umm, like the good kind of Armageddon. The birth is this point in the future, and you can plan things up to that point, but then everything after it is entirely unknown. Plans will not survive the
Armageddon. You'll just have to go in and do your best to survive.
But, umm, you know, in a good way. Because the baby will definitely be a good thing. Right? Right.
Anyway, board games are also great. I had a wonderful time playing games and hanging out with super-chill people at Piranha Pig Con. Mostly I just played lots of favorites like Lisboa, Gaia Project, and Lost Ruins of Arnak. I also
tried out some new stuff, but those, in general, were less pleasurable experiences. You just gotta figure out what you like and really focus on that, though I never regret trying new things.
Except deck-builders based on IPs. I have a history of regretting those.
Despite me missing the "thumbs up" memo, Spyrium is always a good time.

So, yeah, in the next letter you may get a story about expanding my own family's party with the baby's birth, but for now, we'll just have to settle for another exciting party expansion:
BJ Hensley is joining the team as director of art and graphic design for Cephalofair Games!
BJ is a super-experienced veteran of the RPG and board game industry and has worn many hats over the years. She is a game designer and published author, with additional experience in managing, editing, marketing, and graphic design. The founder of Playground Adventures and long-time vice president of Lone Wolf Development, she has also done work for Green Ronin, Kobold Press, Paizo, Renegade Games, Wizards of the Coast, and many more over the years.
I am truly excited to see the expertise and knowledge she will be bringing to the table on all our projects in development. I also look forward to getting to know her more as she becomes an integral part of the Cephalofair Games team. With her at our side, I am confident that we will be able to reach new,
pivotal heights!
What all those projects BJ will be working on, however, are still quite secret. After taking some time to rest up on the other
side of Frosthaven development, we are back into it, cooking up future Big Things. I'm sure you'll be hearing more about them in the coming months as we settle into new dynamics.
I'm not sure what else there is to report on at the moment. California is still as beautiful as ever, and I haven't regretted moving out here for a single second. A+ wonderful. Would recommend.
Just another sunset to enjoy.
I finally got a chance to take my kayak out onto the open ocean, and it was as magical and fulfilling as I anticipated. I got to see a family of otters, and lots and lots of birds up-close, and I am very much looking forward to doing it again, despite getting a little sea-sick toward the
end.
The future continues to look better and better, so let's see where it takes us!
